Customize your Shopify store workflow with Zapier and Mailparser

As an online retailer, you’ve devoted a great deal of care to create the look and feel of your Shopify store. Everything from your branding, to product page layout and cart checkout experience are customized just the way you want them. This same level of detailed customization is available for transactional notifications and other data you send through Shopify. Have additional emailed information you need to get into Shopify? No problem, when you connect your store to Mailparser via App automation tool, Zapier.

Zapier enables anyone—marketing, support, legal, HR, operations, product—to connect the web apps they use to run their business, without writing code. You can Zap parsed emails created by Shopify to other Apps you use with Zapier, OR you can Zap email data parsed with Mailparser into your Shopify store. Let’s break these down a bit more.

Parse Shipping Notifications

You might have information that lives outside Shopify which you want to integrate with native Shopify store functionality. How do we get emailed data into Shopify from outside sources? This data is critical to accuracy of inventory, shipping status and more. We’ll take a closer look at shipping notifications.
UPS, FedEx, etc. is a pretty seamless process in Shopify and there are great partners that offer solutions for tethering the shipping notifications, status and the like directly into the customer updates in the Shopify portal. If you don’t use a Shopify partner App for this, you can easily parse UPS/FedEx shipping notifications and Zap them to your Shopify store with Mailparser. But, what if your business model relies on USPS, Australian Post, Freight carrier, or another shipping method? The majority of shipping options today offer email notifications or a Bill of Lading (BOL) and send email notifications during various stages of the shipping process. Using Mailparser will allow you to parse all the relevant data from the incoming emails from shipping providers. Then, you can pass this helpful info along to your Shopify store or customers automatically using a Zap. Funneling these notifications through Zapier means you can customize the messaging and tone, so rather than a robotic shipping update, your messaging is on brand from start to finish.

Organize Order Details

Maybe you are wanting to push information from transactional emails generated in Shopify to Google Sheets, Infusionsoft, Quickbooks, or another of Zapier’s supported App family? This is an area that Shopify users often take advantage of, opting to send data from parsed orders, contact requests, shipping notifications, discount codes and more, to another endpoint. Some advantages of this workflow include complete elimination of copy and pasting, improved accuracy, and the real-time movement of data from Shopify to nearly any platform through Mailparser & Zapier. Reducing the workflow lag, while possessing the opportunity to send your data to hundreds of Apps is a time and money saving option many Shopify customers take advantage of.

Manage New Leads

Even if you are simply using Shopify for lead creation as part of supported App community, you can still leverage Mailparser and Zapier. Each time a potential client reaches out for more information, places and order, sends a ticket, etc. you can parse this data, and pass it through Zapier to your CRM, Help Desk, or elsewhere, the options are nearly limitless.

The Sky’s the Limit

At the end of the day it’s all about the control you have of the data you rely on. You no longer need to wait for data to show up in the locations you want it, (typically from manual input). Now you simply parse the email data and create the Zap to send information where it belongs. Structure your email data with Mailparser to ensure you are getting exactly what you want, then Zap it exactly where you need it.
You’ve built a great presence on Shopify. Hopefully utilizing some of the great apps available, including top store locator and in stock notifications apps. Integrations are key to a successful experience, saving time on manual efforts and having better outcomes for the effort you put into your store!
