Email to Lead in Salesforce – Create New Leads with Data Parsed From Emails

Want a simple email to lead Salesforce solution? Does your business receive hundreds of leads by email, then you find yourself manually creating new records in Salesforce.
Ideally, those leads would come in with a Salesforce Web to Lead form but this is not always the case. And as we all know, making changes to existing processes can quickly become expensive, especially when Salesforce is involved. Thus, we are also listed on the Salesforce AppExchange. Creating an email to lead Salesforce workflow

This is actually a very common (and painful) situation which we see quite often here at Mailparser. We already helped a lot of businesses which receive leads through emails sent from a web contact form or through third-party lead providers. Most of the time those leads are worth a lot of money and it’s very important that they are transferred to Salesforce, (or any other CRM), fast and without errors.
Here is a tutorial to better understand how Mailparser and Salesforce can work together to convert emails to leads, or continue reading below:

Simple email to lead parsing example
Typically, email leads are received one by one and the relevant data can be found in the text body (e.g. “First Name: Peter”, “Email: his@email.com’, …) like in the simple example shown above. In other cases, multiple leads are sent in as PDF or Excel file attachments. Once received, a staff member transfers those leads to Salesforce by doing the same tedious copy & paste routine day after day.
This calls for automation!
Wouldn’t it be nice to have an automated Salesforce email to lead process which does all the heavy lifting for you so that you can close more deals by talking to your leads? A software that is able to import data from emails to Salesforce CRM?

  1. Can this update records or only create? I need to update records that match a unique key I’m passing in the email template.

    1. Hi Heather,
Thanks for reaching out! While our app’s native Salesforce integration can only create new records in Salesforce, you could use an integration platform like Zapier to send our parsed data there to update a record in Salesforce:

  2. Hi,
I’d like to know please if mailparser can create in salesforce an account AND a case for that account according to the data contained in the pdf attached to the email sent to mailparser ?
    Thanks
    Sebastien

    1. Hi SĂ©bastien,
      Thanks for reaching out!
Our app does offer a native Salesforce integration you can use to create new objects, and we also offer support for basic PDF data extraction. It may make sense to have a look at our sister app Docparser which was built to work with complex PDFs and also can automatically create new objects in Salesforce. We don’t have a way to create accounts in Salesforce, I’m afraid.
If you have any questions please let me know – have a good weekend 🙂
